Box Rotator

130-degree or 180-degree box rotators are available with or without an optional clamping system. With two models available, you can get the best “BOX ROTATOR” for your application at the lowest possible cost. With a 130 or 180-degree rotator, you can dump fruit, vegetables, fertilizer, and many other products directly into a truck, spreader, or hopper with your existing forklift, saving valuable time and extra labor.

Optional Double-Arm Clamping System Shown
Using sequence valves, this “Double-Arm” clamp automatically lowers and adjusts to the bin height and clamps the bin when the rotator is used. The clamp will allow you to rotate the bin completely upside down without dropping the bin off the forks. When the empty bin is returned to the upright position, the sequence valve will allow the clamp to raise to the vertical position, releasing the bin.

Optional Single-Arm Clamping System Shown
The “Single-Arm” clamp is activated using a sequence valve just like the “Double-Arm” clamp, however, this design allows the product to flow out of the bin unobstructed. Another advantage of the Single-Arm clamp is that the hydraulic cylinder is not located over the top of the product. This will prevent any accidental product contamination if hydraulic leakage should occur.

When released, the clamp arm stands straight up, allowing bins to be exchanged or the lifting of more than one bin.
Although the Single-Arm clamp has a few advantages compared to the Double-Arm clamp, the height of the arm has to be considered when going through doorways etc.
STANDARD FEATURES
• Hydraulic cylinder for fast smooth operation
• Can be adapted to most standard and rough terrain forklifts
• Forks always return to level position
• Visibility and lift capacity better than with other rotators
• 180 degree model can be changed in field for right or left rotation
• Adjustable restrictor to control rotation speed
Rotator can be installed or removed in minutes by one person
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
• Hydraulic selector valve with hoses and fittings will allow the use of a single lever for rotation and side shift
• Single-Arm Clamping System
• Double-Arm Clamping System
Optional Clamping System Features
Using sequence valves, the clamp automatically lowers and adjusts to the bin height and clamps the bin when the rotator is used.
The Single Clamp Design allows the fruit to be dumped without interference from the clamp arm. With this design the valve and cylinder are mounted behind the bin to avoid any possible contamination if hydraulic leakage should occur. The clamp stands straight up when not in use, allowing lifting of more than one bin.

Cross Action Forks
" For the ride of your life "

The best built forks just got better. Now you can get heavy duty carbon steel forks with cross action on the 3 point pins with air shocks for load adjustment. This new patented design gives a soft ride, even on the roughest ground. This eliminates much of the bruising caused by transporting fruit and vegetables on 3 point forks.

This unique design keeps the forks the same distance from tractor, allowing greater lift capacity on small tractors and does not increase the bounce. The cross action also allows forks to self-level to uneven ground conditions for easier entrance into box or pallet.

Double Forks
Driveway Scraper

Will remove washboard effect, fill in ruts, and does not create dips or swells. Front blades cut down high spots moving material to wings. Wings catch material channel it across full 8′ width, filling any low spots.

STANDARD FEATURES
- Will fit category I or II three point hitch.
- Steel blades on front & back are 1/2″ thick and reversible.
- 8 ft wide, weighs 400 Ibs. Extra weight can be easily added.
- Scraper has a “ski-nose” front which keeps the front of the scraper from nose-diving into soft material when unit is in the “float” setting.
Also works great forfilling ruts in orchard rows due to a wet spring.
Economy Lifts

Now for little more than the price of a three point, you can have the versatility of a HI-LO. With many models available for both 3-point and front mounting, you can get the right lift at the right price.

Most models have 3000 lb. load capacity and are available in lift heights from one foot to eight feet in single and two stage models. Hi-lift models have high carbon steel forks, a 3″ inch double acting cylinder with two lift chains and all-roller lift channels and carriages for smooth, long life operation.

With good visibility on all models, you can quickly and easily move boxes around orchards or fields. With HI-LIFT models you can load or unload bulk boxes onto trucks or trailers in the field with no need for additional lifts.

Foil Layer
Growers are using reflective film materials on orchard floors to reflect sunlight back up into the trees to improve color on apples, and cherries, and other stone fruit.
Phil Brown Welding’s “Foil Layer” is a handy and efficient way to lay reflective foil under fruit trees. This unit will use the same mounting framework as our Clean Sweep Spray Boom. If you already have one of our spray booms, simply slide off the end tube and this Foil Layer slides right on.
Frost Protection Fan

Protect up to ten acres of fruit or vegetables for pennies per hour. By using our new SEVEN FT. or FIVE FT. DIAMETER frost fans directly on your tractor’s P.T.O. you can greatly increase your natural air drainage. With three-point hitch mounting, this unit can be moved to protect whichever crop is most critical at the time.
The placement of this fan in lower areas or valleys of your orchard or fields will push the colder, stagnant air out, forcing its replacement with warmer air from higher levels. The effective coverage area will be approximately 500 ft. wide and 1/4 mile long.
This area of increased temperature will include all the low area on both sides, behind and in front of the fan.
5 ft and 7 ft Fans available.
5 FT fans require a minimum of 60 PTO HP to maintain 540 RPM. Lower RPMs will require less HP, but will reduce the air moving capability. This diameter fan will move approximately 400,000 cfm of air. This number includes all the air surrounding the fan, not just through the venturi.
7 FT fans require a minimum of 80 PTO HP to maintain 540 RPM. Lower RPMs will require less HP, but will reduce the air moving capability. This diameter fan will move approximately 700,000 cfm of air. This number includes all the air surrounding the fan, not just through the venturi.

Ground Hog Sweeper

The Ground Hog utilizes hydraulically driven rubber pads to prevent damage to tree bark while effectively sweeping brush and debris from the tree row. The collected material is then gathered into a windrow to be chopped or pushed. This method has also demonstrated significant advantages in preparing the ground before herbicide application, leading to improved weed control.

The GROUND HOG’S adjustable arm floats on a disc under the sweeper following the contour of the ground, and can clean over 5 acres per hour. An optional lift cylinder raises the disc off the ground for transporting between blocks.
The GROUND HOG mounts on the front or 3-pt. of your tractor, and uses existing tractor hydraulics to turn the spinner. This unit, when mounted on the front, sweeps the ground ahead of the tractor so brush and debris can be disposed of at the same time by a trailing chopper.

Double arm GROUND HOG also available.
Fully adjustable for any row width.

Mechanical Bulk Loader

Now any forklift can be used for bulk loading of fruit, vegetables, fertilizer etc. either in the field or on a loading pad without any hookup to a forklift or a hydraulic unit.

The Mechanical Bulk Loader uses a chain anchored to the side of the truck to accomplish its dumping action. After a bin is placed into the Mechanical Bulk Loader it is raised with a forklift. When the dumper reaches the desired height, tension on the chain causes the bin to be rotated forward as the forklift continues to rise. It uses approximately 30 inches of travel to complete the dumping cycle and empty the bin.

Because the Mechanical Bulk Loader is not tied to one forklift or loading area, more than one forklift can utilize this dumper for faster loading. operation.

An adjustable bar above the bin prevents it from falling during the dumping operation.

This view shows an OPTIONAL anchor plate (sold separately) that can be used if no other chain attachment point is available.

FEATURES
• Does not require hydraulics
• Dumps any style of bin, including poly or cardboard.
• Can load all from one side
• Will not damage bins.
• Can be used with any forklift

Mini Shuttle
The MINI SHUTTLE has been designed to accommodate picking in narrow row spacing without damage to fruit on the tree or in the bin.
With the MINI SHUTTLE the pickers can move their own bin when needed, take it to a loading area when it is full, and pick up empty bins without waiting for a tractor driver. This safe and efficient method of moving bins in and out of orchard rows, is also very effective by eliminating expensive tractors and drivers; this also reduces the bruising done when tractor lifts are used in the orchard.
FEATURES
- 8 HP Honda Engine
- Hydraulic Drive
- Twist handle controls stop when released
- Able to turn around in the width of a row.
- Tach and Hour Meter
- 3 To 5 Miles per hour
- Mounted hitch for towing

Peach Blossom Thinner

The advantages of blossom thinning have been known for many years. Early blossom removal allows the tree’s vigor to be used only for the fruit intended for harvest. This increases the fruit size and at the same time, eliminates many hours of costly hand thinning.
This mechanical thinning machine, with its many features, makes blossom thinning a practical way to save both time and money. This will enable the grower to experience a better crop and a higher profit.
FEATURES:
- Hydraulic driven rotor with variable speed for smooth, effective operation.
- Rugged build for less maintenance.
- Can be carried on a standard forklift tractor.
- Uses tractor hydraulics for easy hookup.
- Adjustable for different tree row widths.
- Counterweighted to decrease side load on the tractor.
- Ropes can be easily replaced when worn.

Picking Platform

12″ Wide galvanized side steps for easy access to the platform and bins
In 2012 Michigan had a frost episode that resulted in a total crop loss for much of the state. The very few apples that did not freeze were in the very tops of the trees. We developed a method for the pickers to be able to pick from the elevated platforms and then hand their full buckets down to another bin tender standing on the steps of the box shuttle to empty into the bins. This is not an efficient way to harvest apples during a “normal” season, however it allowed the grower to claim the little fruit they had left that year. We raised the platform up on blocks to allow the Box Shuttle chains to load and unload three bins at a time. This is an example of what is possible with our equipment. Our Vacuum Apple Harvester is a true harvest machine that takes the fruit from the pickers hand and deposits it in a bin without bruising.

Able to carry 3 bins at a time for picking
The work platform has two hydraulically controlled stations that can be operated independently of one another. The Box Shuttle Chains are allowed to run underneath the platform so bins can be exchanged. The 12 inch wide removable steps allow easy access to the bins and are galvanized for corrosion resistance.

Narrow enough for today’s high density plantings
Post Pounder

This post driver setup has been designed especially for driving tall posts in orchards or vineyards where narrow row spacing and uneven terrain are a problem.
The post driver can be carried by 3-point forks or a front lift. This allows it to be hooked up and unhooked in minutes. An adjustable bottom support gives the unit stability, allowing the operator to drive posts with the frame sitting on the ground. This frame also supports the unit when it is unhooked from the tractor.
A four lever control valve allows the operator to adust the tilt in both directions as well as 3 foot of travel side to side of the tractor. This allows the tractor driver to travel straight down the row, with less maneuvering resulting in faster post installation saving both time and money.
Features:
- Impact: 30,000 lbs
- Max post width: 7″
- Adjustable for different post heights
- Hydraulic base plate for tilt and offset
- Tilt and offset: 15 degrees
- Flow requirement: 3-4 GPM

Weed Spray Boom
This front or mid-mounted herbicide boom is the ideal way to spray in orchards with standing weeds or low tree branches. With the Clean Sweep Spray Boom, the weeds are laid down and sprayed completely from the roots up, while the spray shield lifts and protects any low hanging limbs. This makes it possible to spray anytime without wind interference.
The Clean Sweep Spray Boom has a rubber whip on the outer end to lay the grass down around and between trees. This unique design has two breakaways, one near the outer tip (shown only in the bottom picture) which will break back in the event of heavy tree contact. The second breakaway is at the point of mounting, which allows the entire boom to swing back if the boom contacts the ground. This allows the perfect spray pattern to continue even if a tractor wheel falls into a hole or rut.
The standard Clean Sweep Spray Boom is 7ft long and can be adjusted out to 10ft, either manually or with an optional hydraulic cylinder kit. The double front mounted booms (similar to the booms shown in the pictures) are capable of spraying rows as narrow as 14ft out to 20ft. Easily unwind coils of high tensile wire for your trellis systems.

A drag link prevents the coils from free-wheeling causing slack in the wire.

This is an example of a horizontal system for unwinding three wires at a time. This unit is designed to to be carried on your tractor forks.
Other trellis equipment includes:
- Wire Puller
- Wire Winder
- Wire Un-winder
- Post Pounder
- Bamboo Stakes
- Plastic limb ties

Wire Winder
This Hydraulic Wire Winder was designed to rewind wire from the orchard and vineyard trellis systems where it is no longer needed. It is designed to wind the wire into standard (4000 FT) coils so it can be reused in new plantings. This versatile unit can also be used as an unwinder by opening a valve, allowing it to freewheel.
An optional spool is available to rewind trickle irrigation hose or trickle tape.
- Easily mounts on forklift or 3 pt. forks, with 4-way entry fork tubes so wire can be wound
from any direction - Hydraulic valve for easy operator control of speed, start and stop of winder
- Lever controlled wire guide to control the even winding of each coil
- Slots in front and back plates to allow easy tying of coil before it is removed from winder
- Wing nut for fast and easy removal of outer plate to remove coil from winder
- Hydraulic valve and motor runs off remote outlets of tractor or forklift hydraulic system

1 or 2 units can be installed in minutes with no necessary modifications to our “N” Model Box Shuttle.

Unit mounted on our Work Platform Trailer.

Hydraulic Work Platform on Box Shuttle setup for picking.

Each platform will raise from 2′ to 8′ from ground level when mounted on the Box Shuttle.

Each station operates independently of one another.

Maximum width is only 68″ when fully collapsed, to work in today’s high density orchards.

Fully extended, platforms reach out 10′ 8″ edge to edge.

Rounded corners and no vertical supports on the platforms or rails means less damage to tree limbs and fruit.
